It would be nice to have U+202F NARROW NO-BREAK SPACE in Source Sans Pro. This is a blank glyph, usually a bit narrower than a normal space.

U+202F is used in French typography (before some punctuation marks), although many people substitute either a normal space or no space. It is also used in Mongolian.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_(punctuation)#Spaces_in_Unicode for more details on this character.

In Finnish, we use narrow spaces as thousand separators, in dates, and with the percent sign, so this would come in handy.

in what workflows is this necessary? i thought that in InDesign at least these spaces were always available independent of the font chosen. it seems that some smart font fallback would easily remedy this issue.

It matters e.g. for webfonts. Using Adobe Source Sans Pro on a web page, and viewing the page on Android, there is a fallback font but it's far from complete. I'm sure there are other scenarios where no good fallback is available.

i just wish i didn’t have to keep adding more glyphs to cater to shortcomings in Andriod :^p when will it stop?
