There are a couple of discussions/bugs related to emitting discontinuity events https://github.com/ably/ably-chat-js/issues.
Once those decisions are resolved, the specs will be updated. We should be able to pick up room monitoring.
Also, some specification related suggested changes ->

  1. Reconsider criteria for a channel ATTACHED to be considered a contributor discontinuity specification#239
  2. Contributor discontinuity criteria are ambiguous re shared channels specification#240
