Open another port for access

I am configuring in sshd_config to open port 11111.
However I don't see in colima the port is opened.
Also I see that I can use any port to access the machine even if it is not configured.
This works for example while the port 12345 was never configured.
Why it works and how can I configure a working port?

Both works.
ssh -p 1234 colima
sftp sftp://colima:12345
