Chinese：steam一打开就显示0x3008不管重装多少次都显示0x3008，能不能快点修，求求了，我等了4天才等来可以玩游戏的周五与周末，你告诉我不能打你一个最爱的游戏😭，以及……在提交问题时选择whisky版本为什么没有2.3.4的选项，我的版本是2.3.4

Hello, this is a duplicate post to #1338. To recap the temporary solution available right now:

• Right click the steam app -> select config.
• In the Arguments, you want to write: -forcesteamupdate -forcepackagedownload -overridepackageurl http://web.archive.org/web/20250306194830if_/media.steampowered.com/client -exitsteam and launch steam.
  • This will force the steam update and download it from the internet archive.
  • This should be the last backed up working version from 6th March 2025.
  • Once it's downloaded, steam will quit.
• Once finished, change the Arguments to: -noverifyfiles -nobootstrapupdate -skipinitialbootstrap -norepairfiles -overridepackageurl and launch steam again.
  • This will bypass the steam updater. Mind that it is not recommended to run older version of steam due to security issues that might occur, but this version is at least pretty new and should work fine before this gets fixed.

I just checked and a very similar solution is in the official Whisky wiki https://docs.getwhisky.app/steam.html. It just uses a really old version of Steam. I will try to PR changes with the version from my comment.

EDIT: The official wiki is updated and should now have the last possible version.
