I believe couchdb is a drop in replacement.

Also thanks heaps for this software since "Toptal" ruined hastebin I've been looking for an alternative. if this gets some kind of command line utility or a curl-able pipe-able workflow that's documented somewhere that isn't too terrible this is going to be awesome!!

I agree I'm not the biggest fan of Mongo's stance on open source and their license restrictions.

Not sure if removing MongoDB entirely from the project is the solution. But I'm open to alternative docker compose files being added to the repo using a different DB to Mongo (if supports Mongo clients.)

Paaster already has a (Somewhat minimal) CLI tool too https://github.com/WardPearce/paaster-cli

Alternative to MongoDB: FerretDB looks like a great option.
Alternative to Docker hub: quay
