Symptoms

• Dark and Darker launches and is met with the popup "Tavern is not working! Please restart your game."
  • This is after the Loading and Connecting, when you are in the Character Selection Screen.

Reproduction

Launching Dark and Darker on any Proton Version higher than the working versions listed above.

I do not know what the equivalent ProtonGE to Proton release is, so it's here just in-case.

Tweaking around with a custom build for anyone that still wants a few updates, regressing Proton's Wine on later versions to 824ccfa fixes this issue, and allows you to play Dark and Darker.

Hopefully this also helps anyone debugging, the issue appears in 3e1c699, possibly earlier however as this timline is based off of ProtonGE's wine upstream for 9-7 to 9-8.
