Game data lacking an explicit license file

I assume the game data is also under GPLv3 or later, but it seems there's no proper license identification in the https://sourceforge.net/p/vdrift/code repository.

Could you clarify the license of the assets? A COPYING or LICENSE file at the root of the above repo would help, too!

The license is unclear for a lot of the files.

I would like to extract the GPL compatible parts as a minimal data set, move it to github. Just don't really have the time.

I see; thanks for the explanation. Can someone else help with this effort? How would I for example identify which data is currently under a GPL-compatible license? Are there license notices in the data files?
