Suggestion

SUMMARY / VOTE NOW πŸ“ˆ βœ‹

Present situation: users use #EDITION for different things (Album, decade, topic etc.) in usdb, its inconsistent. There was no official definition for that attribute in format.

We need to define #EDITION. There was a long discussion in discord that I summarize here.

Here are the voting options.

Please vote for this issue till 31th oct 2023 with emoticon πŸŽ‰ / πŸš€ / ❀️ .

πŸš€ A: deprecate #EDITION at all

πŸŽ‰ B: define #EDITION only for "Editions of games" like SingStar - Pop Hits, GuitarHero Live, Rockband vol.4, Let's Sing 2020

❀️ C: define #EDITION only for "Editions of games" like SingStar - Pop Hits, GuitarHero Live, Rockband vol.4, Let's Sing 2020

AND add a new attribute #TAGS (with multiple entries) that can contain "any reasonable keyword" for this song to be found like topic, mood, etc.: for example: Love Songs , Movie , 80s
AND write the "version of a song" into #TITLE with ( )

πŸ‘€ D: define #EDITION only for the "version of a song": "live version", "Explicit", "Video Version", "Remix", "12inch version", "Album version"

AND add a new attribute #TAGS (with multiple entries) that can contain "any reasonable keyword" for this song to be found like topic, mood, etc.: for example: Eurovision Song Contest , Glam Rock , Pride

Use case

Why?

  • users in usdb don't know how to use #EDITION, its inconsistent
  • we need a clear definition, #GENRE seems to be not enough for different keywords

Examples:

A:

B:

#EDITION: Rockband vol.4

C:

#TITLE: Final Countdown (live)
#EDITION: Rockband vol.4
#TAGS: Love Songs , Movie , 80s

D:

#EDITION: "Explicit", "12inch version"
#TAGS: Eurovision Song Contest , Glam Rock , Pride
