How can I operate in country band AU915?

Sorry, current FW could not support AU915 band, you can refer to page20 on WM-SG-SM-42 AT Command Reference Manual rev.2.3_20180701.pdf. It can support US915.
AU915 will be implemented into next FW. Once released, the new FW will be downloaded in Github.

Is there a release date for the next firmware?

Not fix the data yet, may it will be the mid of next month.
