Hey Team!

This dashboard is looking great, it is coming! The dataset is interesting, and the way you've visualized the commute trends makes it super easy to explore. I like how interactive it is, being able to filter by different factors and see the changes.

The mix of maps, charts, and graphs is also great. The map especially adds a nice touch by giving a clear geographic view of the data. The layout is clean, and everything feels really well-organized, which makes navigating the dashboard a easy.

  • Well designed sketch, a final product close to it would be great.

A couple of things that could take it to the next level:

  • The filters are great, but they take a little time (...to forever) to update the visuals. Maybe tweaking the backend queries could help speed things up.

  • Right now, the location dropdown feels a bit long and overwhelming. What if it was split into two steps: first picking a province, then selecting a city or census based on that? It’d make navigating way easier instead of scrolling through a huge list.

  • The users have to analyze the charts to get key insights. Adding a small summary stats section at the top would provide instant takeaways.

  • Minor: Maybe go for another type of map since it is only for Canada, the current acts strangely sometimes.

These are small tweaks that could make the experience even smoother for users. Keep up the awesome work and good luck!

  • Look at performance improvements
  • Split CD dropdown into two separate ones: Province and CD
  • Consider adding summary stats section at the top
  • Explore having the map only be Canada instead of the entire world
