Add a feature where you can link waystones together (hopefully for all versions of MC including 1.12.2)

Ex: Waystones 1-4 are linked together and will only allow players to teleport between the 4 waystones.

Waystones 5-8 are linked together as well in a similar fashion.

Waystones 1-4 are not linked to 5-8 so players cannot use waystones 1-4 to teleport to waystones 5-8.

This feature would be great for adventure maps, but also for servers with multiple player teams/clans/cities.

That would be a cool feature

I like this idea a lot! Maybe you could dye waystones? That'll give you 16 unique waystones.
