Create a common set of icons for use by client apps at a well defined path.

To enable applications and resources to reference a common set of icons to enable dynamic rendering of status on maps, etc.

They could be made available at a well defined path e.g. /signalk/v2/api/resources/icons and deployed and managed via a plugin.

I can imagine something that would dynamically construct (and cache) an icon upon request:

/signalk/v2/api/resources/icons?class=fa-solid%20fa-location-pin&stroke=whilte&fill=green&iconColor=white&iconClass=fa-solid%20fa-bridge-water

• class would specify a template for the base layer. It could reference an SVG icon from a well known library. In this example, refers to https://fontawesome.com/icons/location-pin?f=classic&s=solid
• stroke, fill, iconColor are all obvious
• iconClass references an SVG icon for the foreground from a well known library. In this example, refers to https://fontawesome.com/icons/bridge-water?f=classic&s=solid
