Limit number of booked appointments per day?

I have a use case where I would like to offer multiple time slots per day, but can only allow a single appointment per day. So after an appointment is booked, I want the whole day to become unavailable.

A setting like "maximum appointments per day" is what I would ideally need.

Is this currently possible? Is there another way for me to achieve what I want to do?
