What kind of tests did you have in mind? Some of the functionality can be easily unit tested (the median binning for example) and it would be straightforward to set up a GitHub workflow that runs pytest.

Did not think much about it actually. Just thought that we have a few things for the other python-based projects so that we should probably do something here too.

I'd need to think what the core functionalities are that we would not want to break are.
