At its core, breeders have highlighted that they like to track breeding-relevant factors on a buck such as:
"Unsuitable for breeding, send to a home"
"Can go to a home, but would like to borrow back"
On the latter point, note that breeders with good relationships with their pet homes (and other breeders) often keep the door open to borrow a buck back for breeding.
Storing such information in some form could facilitate more useful features, like for litter planning. Certain traits (Not dead, owned, or flagged as "Borrow Back", certain ages) are important to those processes. Right now this is information that breeders track, often by colour coding the spreadsheet they use.
