Issue with Winget Autoupdate

Hi everyone,

I recently installed Winget AutoUpdate and configured a whitelist for selective updates. However, when I attempt to update the applications listed in the whitelist using the command ./Winget-AutoUpdate-Install.ps1 -UseWhiteList, it fails to update the specified tool (7zip.7zip). Or is it that there isn't a manual trigger possible?

Has anyone encountered this issue before, or can provide any insight into what might be going wrong? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Hi.
Not sure to understand what you try to do. If you have installed WAU with a whitelist, and the app is in your list, it should update your app.
Can you share the log file please?

I've got another question. We now have ran it with a blacklist. The stuff in the blacklist wasn't updated (great), but there is also stuff that isn't in the blacklist that wasn't updated.

I can't tell like this. It can be an issue with WAU, with winget, with the app itself....

However, we've encountered another hiccup. When trying to update, our log indicates that there's already another version installed, and we're not quite sure how to proceed. Here's what the update.log file shows:

That 1638 error is still open in MS winget project:
microsoft/winget-cli#1971 (comment)
In the meantime, please try removing 'Microsoft.Teams.Classic' and installing "Teams 2.0"
