Hey! I have been roasting on my SR700 for over a year now and love this little machine but I have only been using the manual controls. I haven't really used any roasting software for it though because the stock software wasn't connecting with the base of the roaster properly, but I then found OpenRoast and noticed that it has no problem connecting to the roaster and running it.
There didn't seem to be an issue until I tried to use some of the recipes that come with the software. No matter how hard I try I cannot get any beans to really get past first crack using the software, be it Brazilian, Ethiopian, or PNG and yet I can get a great roast using the manual controls. The software is reading all of the appropriate temperatures and running smoothly, but even with the temperature staying at 490 + degrees I cannot get my beans to first crack. I am following all of the instructions concerning charge temperature as well, but that doesn't seem to be helping. I then tried to do a custom roast just using the software without a recipe and had the same issue. Any idea about what could be going on?
I'm running an HP laptop with windows 7.
