            <p>Welcome to Ecosounds, home of the QUT Ecoacoustics Research Group. Led by Professor Paul Roe,
                the lab investigates the use of acoustic sensing technology for monitoring the environment. Key areas of
                research include:</p>
            <ul>
                <li>Automated and semi-automated acoustic data analysis methods, including: </li>
                    <ul>
                        <li>Creating recognisers for rare, endangered or invasive species</li>
                        <li>Content-based similarity search</li>
                        <li>Smart sampling of audio to assist species richness surveys</li>
                    </ul>
               
                <li>Novel applications of acoustic sensing to biodiversity monitoring</li>
                <li>Invasive species monitoring</li>
                <li>Rare and endangered species monitoring</li>
                <li>Navigation and visualisation of long duration acoustic recordings</li>
            </ul>
            
            <p>
                Our acoustic workbench software, currently running at <a href="https://www.ecosounds.org">www.ecosounds.org</a>,
                provides management, visualisation, and analysis services for large amounts of environmental audio data.
            </p>
