Describe the bug

Due to a new process called App Notorization, compiled programs may no longer run on Mac operating systems.

See https://developer.apple.com/documentation/xcode/notarizing_macos_software_before_distribution

Expected behavior

We need to notorize every release of AP.exe by:

  • signing the binary with a certificate
  • submitting the app to the app store notorization service
  • and by signing up and paying for a $99USD/year Apple Developer license

Additional Details

It is possible for the moment to bypass the Gatekeeper software that is stopping AP.exe from running. It is only available for older versions of the mac operating system. You can apparently unblock the app - I don't have a mac to test this on however.

This feedback from a Mac user:

at first it said it can't install, so I went to system setting to allow it. (system preferences > security) but the option was not there like I expected. After some tries I realised that I had to accept the warning that it can't install before going there. After that (from memory) the setting was there, but it still didn't allow it after that
[The Open Anyway button] didn't show up at first and then I realised that I had to click the OK button on the warning that had popped up when I first tried to install
