Failed to change styles for elements

Could not change style for element inside another element. E.g. try to set position: absolute for 'core-input' inside 'core-card'. Seem position could be changed only for top level elements. For what reason this restriction is placed?

Elements in container that do not have a layout attribute set are no longer forced to static positioning.
