Describe the feature

Just feeling the room, if there would be, in general, interest to add new data sources to Pirate Weather?

I'm Finnish myself and the Finnish Meteorogical institute seems to sometimes have more accurate data than Pirate Weather. They have an API. Would be very awesome to use that data via Pirate Weather because it's available to integrate to many more places than the FMI API.

I might take a crack at this if Pirate Weather is open to the idea of new data sources.

Acknowledgements

  • I have searched this repository and Home Assistant Repository to see if the feature has already been requested.
  • I have written an informative title.

New source suggestions are always welcome. Not sure what format @alexander0042 needs but there is data available in grib2 format here: https://en.ilmatieteenlaitos.fi/open-data-manual-forecast-models

Cool! Thanks for posting this, and yes, absolutely interested in integrating it! Things are set up so it'll be pretty straightforward to add a new source, so long as it's available in either grib or NetCDF and has hourly outputs! The full source code for Pirate Weather is coming this week (took some time to get everything organized), and I'd love it if you wanted to take a crack at it. Otherwise, I'll add it to the backlog of additional future sources, and it'll make it's way in eventually.
