@davecraige asked about the possibility of being able to share a friendly URL to his Origin profile. Currently, he would have to share https://demo.originprotocol.com/#/users/0xdfFE6dBe67a6f211Eda52eD2986dF980698BdCDB. He would like to be able to share https://demo.originprotocol.com/DaveCraige. This would require an additional field in the profile (although perhaps treated as a setting). He also asked about the ability to add someone as a friend, but I don't think social features fall within the scope of our goal to create marketplaces.

Note: currently, that user profile takes forever to load and there is no indicator, so it takes some time to see the identity data.

If we add usernames, we would need to maintain an extra registry to ensure uniqueness (a username can be owned by one and only one person). We'd need to give some thought to name-squatting (can anyone claim apple, facebook, etc?) and how to fairly distribute high demand names (first come, first served, bidding, etc).

I do think it would be interesting to tie it into ENS. We could use the new subdomains feature of ENS so Dave could claim davecraige.originid.eth for example.
