In YDS and French system a route with some Aid climbing is expressed as follows:

For example:

  • The Nose in Yosemite: 5.14 or 5.9 C2
  • Latin Brother on Montrebei (Spain): ED 7a or (6a/A1)

7a all free or 6a mandatory and A1 aid
ED: Extremely difficult
