Is there any way to create a new field for typing in an equation by a keypad shortcut?

Thanks!

Hi @breadwater42, as far as I know there isn't a keyboard shortcut for this action built into Google Docs and there isn't a way to configure one, but as @NicosHere mentioned, at least on Windows, if you press Alt + I, it will bring up the "Insert" menu, and then if you press E it should select the "Equation" option and insert an equation.

Type @equ then press TAB.

This works on Google Docs in the Chrome browser on MacOS
