Pretty sure this was not the case before.

Noticed it as I usually put a space between cells, and now a one line cell will get a ... with an expander which can be expanded to show and extra line. On the interactive window I've run a cell with empty lines before and after a print statement.

The main issue is resolved, but the trimming seems to have a side effect.

The following source example:

Both create a cell with only one line. But the line has an expander, and when you press the expanded it doesn't show anything more:

Validated the cleanup fix.
