I have a problem because Media Conch didn't start on my PC.
I'm nit sure if here is the right place to discuss.
I get this error:
Unable to write implementation schema file. Check write permissions on MediaConch data directory.

I have this problem in the GUI and in the Comand line tool.
Is there somebody who could help me?

I'm using Win10 Pro

Many thanks

We try to create some files we need for the processing in "C:\Users%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\MediaConch".
This directory need to be accessible by the tool, with write permission (by default it is the case, so is there something special on your machine which prevent a tool to create this directory with default permissions?)

A student of mine just encountered the same issue (also Windows 10), but I'm pretty sure he didn't change anything in these folders (and also I asked him). He also installed it again as Administrator: Same behavior.

I'd be curious if anyone has any idea what could cause this folder's permissions to become unwriteable with "normal user behavior" on a Windows machine. Any ideas?

New funky Windows "security" creativity? 😉

I've attached a screenshot to add colors 😄

btw: I think the "\" before "%USERNAME%" is missing (needs "\\" - github thought it's an escape character?). So it's:
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\MediaConch".

I encountered this same error using MediaConch CLI on Ubuntu. If anyone is curious, I was able to get around the problem by changing permissions of ~/.local/share/MediaConch and the files within.
