Problem initializing addon

I found out now, that I am not able to initialize the mmp companion addon for chrome. I am getting the error:

Uncaught (in promise) TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'startsWith')
    at initBtn.onclick (main.js:53:44)

copied from the chrome developer console by inspecting the addon.

If you need more info about my system to analyse, please let me know.
