Current Behavior

I have noticed a persistent issue in the Spotube project where the lock screen on Android consistently displays the cover art of the previous song instead of the current one. This issue occurs randomly, making it unpredictable and affecting the user experience negatively.

Expected Behavior

When Spotube triggers the playback of the next song, the lock screen should update and display the cover art of the newly playing song. The cover art should change accordingly to match the currently playing track, providing users with accurate and up-to-date information on the lock screen.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open the app
  2. Lock the screen
  3. Play a song and wait for it to finish with the screen turned on

Operating System

Android 13

Spotube version

3.1.2

Installation source

GitHub Releases (Binary)

I've run into this a few times, especially with a spotty connection the android widgets can get out of sync with the app itself.
