How do we add basic auth in front of the UI?

how do we add basic auth to the UI?
i have basic auth on registry and UI loads file and all is good
but when i added basic auth to the UI via my reverse proxy then it doesnt work
is there currently support for basic auth in front of UI via reverse proxy?
just need UI to either ignore or accept the basic auth header from the proxy rather than accepting it and not supporting it
