Operating system

Windows

Details on version and operating system

(Linux Mint) Linux 5.15.0-116-generic #126-Ubuntu SMP x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Checked with the latest development build (copy version output from About dialog)

  • I made a backup of my libraries before testing the latest development version.
  • I have tested the latest development version and the problem persists

Steps to reproduce the behaviour

Whenever a dialog appears, windows settings are reset.

Dialog appearances examples:

Workaround: Install javafx23 early access version from https://builds.jabref.org/jdk-ea/

Installing the jdk-ea version linked above or the current development version of JabRef both solved this for me.

JabRef 5.16--2024-09-11--eb98259
Linux 6.9.9-1-default amd64
Java 21.0.2
JavaFX 22.0.2+4

@InAnYan Any idea how to reproduce with an MWE? Can the JavaFX reproducer (https://github.com/Siedlerchr/javafxreproducer/) adapted accordingly?

We need to file an upstream issue - or know that we need to fix JabRefs code.
