Translating
Translating QupZilla to other languages is very easy. You need only one application: Qt Linguist.
If you are starting a new translation, please let me know about it to prevent duplicated work.
You can also improve current translations, if you think that it should be better. Contact to the translators can be found in the authors file.
Linux: Search your distribution repository for a qt4-dev-tools package or similar and install it. The binary is called linguist.
Windows: Download the standalone installer here
After installing, download the empty translation file and open it in Qt Linguist.
You will be asked for the Source language and the Target language.
You can leave the source language as it is and choose your language for the target language.
(Qt Linguist will automatically offer the language corresponding to your desktop settings, so you won't probably need to change it)
You can now start translating.
One very useful shortcut is Ctrl+Enter, which finishes the current translation entry and moves to next unfinished one.
Finished translations are shown with a green check mark, unfinished with a grey question mark.
After you made some changes, save your file with your country abbreviation (cs_CZ.ts for Czech Republic, es_ES.ts for Spain, ...).
You will find some special characters in the translation entries.
& followed by one char - This is an "accelerator". It will be used in menus to quickly access actions with Alt + (char after &). If the translation entry is "AdBlock &Settings", the shortcut will be Alt + S (as it is &Settings). You can change position of this character.
These accelerators should be unique per menu.
%1, %2, ... - This means, that there will be some text dynamically included. You should adjust its position to fit with your translation (but in most cases, you won't have to change it).
< br/> or any html tags - There is no place for creativity, just copy it :-)
From the File Menu select the option Release as... and save your translation into a *.qm file. This file can be loaded by QupZilla.
You have to move it into the Translations path (in QupZilla: Menu Help -> Informations about application -> Paths -> Translations).
