There is no way to browse/restore/delete versions of media #1035
Comments
If this will indeed be in 8.7, this timeline might be relevant: |
Looks like the drupal issue, both for the generic revisions UI and the Media revisions issue, have been pushed to 8.8.x-dev. :( |
Is this now a documentation task? What user functionality is missing? |
The "Generic Revision UI" is still under development. |
Possible use case to define target for this functionality? "As a repository administrator, I want the option to version Islandora media types (including the media held in Fedora) and be able to revert versions via a (unified) UI" |
https://www.drupal.org/project/media_revisions_ui might be sufficiently mature now, being marked "feature complete" on its project page? As for use cases: #1930, #1933 and #1935 all somewhat approach this. |
Currently in Islandora 8, you can browse revisions of a node at node/{node_id}/revisions. The Media edit UI allows you to replace a media's file and choose to create a revision (that choice is enabled by default), but Drupal doesn't provide a way to browse all the versions of a media and restore one of them to be the current version (or to delete a revision). This functionality would replace the ability in Islandora 7.x to revert a datastream version.
There is an open issue for Drupal core about this, slated for inclusion in Drupal 8.7.
Related to meta issue #740.
