I recently found getBedSpawnLocation in the Bukkit API, and after some testing it seems useful for bedmode b as is. With some modifications, it could be used instead of the plugin's beds database.

Possibly submit a PR to @SpigotMC with code for returning a bed location even if it isn't null?
