Terminal acts weird when bst280 environment is active

When the bst280 Spack environment is not active, the terminal access through the Open OnDemand portal works normally. When the environment is active, errors begin to crop up. When launching nano, the application fails to launch with the error Error opening terminal: xterm-16color.. When running a man command, the command completes, but first the message WARNING: terminal is not fully functional appears. Upon quitting the manual viewer, the text from the manual fails to be cleared from the terminal, as it would be when the bst280 environment is not active.
