pipes-text not being maintained

It seems the library is not being maintained since a pull request over a year ago updating a version bound hasn't been merged. What is the best alternative to pipes-text?

@zliu41: I don't know. It might be worth asking the maintainer to grant you administrative access so that you can merge pull requests

Unfortunately, the maintainer seems to have dropped off the face of the net in 2017. I keep wondering if it was my fault, but who knows. Regardless, the best bet would be to make a contact attempt anyway and then submit a request to the Hackage trustees to take over the package.
