Like jisho, yomichan doesn't carry over "gloss type" (g_type) info from jmdict, which means glosses tagged as [expl] (explanatory glosses), [lit] (literal glosses), and [tm] (trademark) aren't displayed as such in yomichan. The [lit] glosses especially often don't make much sense in English and not clearly marking that these glosses don't represent idiomatic English but a literal translation would be very helpful. Take for example the ちりも積もれば山となる entry: the idiomatic translations, "many a little makes a mickle" and "every little helps", are presented as equal to the in English nonsensical literal gloss "even dust becomes a mountain if piled together".

Also that's a funny coincidence; I just saw that saying for the first time yesterday while watching ぱにぽにだっしゅ

I read this issue and was wondering why ちりも積もれば山となる wouldn't scan with my copy of yomichan. Turns out I had my "Text scan length" setting (in the "Scanning" section of Yomichan Properties) set to only 10 characters. Thought I'd leave a note here just in case anyone else runs into the same problem.

@Marcusjmdict I've been working on implementing this and other JMdict information (usage notes, cross references, loanword notes, and antonyms) into a dictionary file for yomichan. Please take a look: #1165 (comment)
