Hi,

Right now it's possible to configure an IPv6 unicast address on an interface. It would also be great to be able to add an ipv6 anycast address to an interface as well so that multiple hosts can service the same address.

Regards,

micush

You mean something like ipv6 address a::b/c anycast?

Yes, exactly

Looks like it would be easy to implement, but I'm not sure if e.g. Linux (iproute2) has proper support for that. One manual says not implemented, another says it's possible, but not a decent way to verify if the address was marked as anycast.

  • What is the underlying OS you are testing anycast addresses?
  • And are you able to test this by setting anycast address outside Zebra?
