Milestones for
Phase I:

Interviews were already conducted (see here for minutes and here for the diagram from these notes)

Phase II:

  • identify fitting existing recipes (including recipes that need to be improved)
  • identify missing recipes
  • define tasks
  • map tasks to general use cases
  • assign persons to tasks
  • map planned tasks to the current FAIRification process
  • cross check tasks, competency questions and process with dataset owner

Any documents related these actions will be added in the comments.

Overview table with possible tasks/recipes and mapping to use cases has been created.

  • Ontology:

    • Zooma is not used for automatic ontology annotation, we use the web interface of zooma to allow user to select ontology annotation based on a free text entry, therefor we have wrong/inconsistent annotations, example: for 'fibroblast', we have 4 different ontology entries (BTO, CL, FMA, NCIT), we have a list of prefered ontologies, but all of these ontologies are on list

@FuqiX and @nsjuty I have created this Github issue to keep track of the status of the work in the first 2 phases. The idea is to add documentation to the comments as we go along, so we have it all in on place which is flexible. In the project plan only this issue is the referenced and we don't need to update that document every week. Just let me know what you think.

@proccaserra Could you please help check if this EBiSC related recipe table complete or not? Thanks!

@FuqiX Stephanie
table looks good.
I would add at least one recipe: "how to select and ontology"? I have drafted this generic recipe. In the context of eBISC, it would be nice to have insights on the reasons why BTO, CL, FMA, NCIT were selected, possibly answering the following questions: What level of interoperation was sought? Which resource (database) was of particular interest ?
