Previous versions of MerMEId had the ability to store standard items for your bibliographies for quick retrieval. The Wanhal project will be referring to two books in particular in several hundred entries, and this function would be a large timesaver for us. At present it does not seem to be working.

This function is attested to in the old tutorial (mine is stored under http://localhost:8080/manual/tutorial_bibliography.html). It gives the following explanation:

Under the "cogwheel" menu, however, I only find the following:

A little digging in the archives reveals that this feature was withdrawn in 60c0148. I'm not sure why (maybe @axgeertinger could provide more details?) but at present this feature is not implemented.
Hence we removed the reference from the manual for the upcoming release 2.0 in #198 – this should be re-added once the feature is re-implemented.

I am not sure, but it appears to me that there were some stability issues related to the editing part of the standard bibliographies, which I believe was why I disabled them at some point. As far as I can see only the menu option is disabled; the feature itself is still implemented in /forms/main_form_bibliography.xml. It may be worth a try simply re-activating the menu option.

To be more precise: The standard bibliographies feature is still active. Only the user interface for editing them is disabled. Manually editing /library/standard_bibliography.xml should do the trick if the editor is misbehaving. That also means that it might be considered reinstating the tutorial in the help section.
