No output for TTY consoles/terminals

• Linux distribution and its version: Kubuntu 24.04 LTS
• Linux kernel version: 6.8.0
• Xorg version (if used): 1:7.7+23ubuntu3
• Desktop environment in use: KDE + SDDM

I have a laptop with 2 external monitors connected via a DisplayLink dock. If I switch to a virtual terminal, e.g. tty4, it will not show on the external monitors. Instead, any output from the login screen or current graphical session that was showing will freeze and remain visible. The TTY will only show on the laptop's built-in display, so I cannot stow it away properly when docked.
