Problem Description

I'm always frustrated when I use the desktop version of Next Chat with the API because the responses differ significantly from the web version of ChatGPT. The web version provides more intelligent and coherent responses, even though both versions use the same model.

Solution Description

When using the desktop version of Next Chat that utilizes the API, the responses are often less intelligent and less coherent compared to the web version of ChatGPT. This inconsistency makes it difficult to rely on the desktop version for accurate and high-quality responses, which is frustrating as a user who expects the same level of performance across different platforms.

I would like to see improvements in the desktop version of Next Chat that ensure its responses are as intelligent and coherent as those provided by the web version of ChatGPT. This could involve optimizing the API usage or implementing additional features that align the desktop version more closely with the web version.

Alternatives Considered

The solution should involve making adjustments to how the desktop version of Next Chat uses the API to ensure that the responses are similar in quality to those of the web version. This might include fine-tuning parameters, enhancing the context handling, or other technical improvements that bring consistency between the two versions.

As an alternative, I have considered using only the web version of ChatGPT for all my needs. However, this is not always convenient, especially when I prefer using a dedicated desktop application. Another alternative could be to manually adjust settings within the API calls, but this requires technical knowledge and may not fully resolve the issue.

  • Using only the web version of ChatGPT.
  • Manually adjusting API call settings to improve response quality.
  • Exploring third-party tools or plugins that might enhance API performance.

Additional Context

It would be helpful to understand if there are any known limitations or differences in how the API is implemented in the desktop version versus the web version. Any insights or suggestions from the development team on how to achieve more consistent results would be greatly appreciated.
