Within the last couple of months, we’ve released several new features, fixed many bugs, and made the platform faster and more reliable. This has resulted in more Budibase apps being published than ever before 🎊.

Features

Nav icons: You can now add icons to your app's nav items.
API Request automation node: We launched a new and improved experience for working with HTTP requests within Budibase automation.
Improved automation logs experience: View your automation logs alongside your automation.
Platform design improvements: We’ve improved the platform's UI by changing the font and adding more color to the overall experience.
AI automation nodes: Enjoy new AI functions, including summarise, classification, text generation, translation, general prompting, and document/URL extraction.

Upcoming work

Workspaces: Workspaces are an exciting, fundamental change to the platform, transitioning Budibase from an app builder to a workflow platform. More information to follow in the coming weeks.
New automation nodes: Multi-step looping node, set state node.
API templates: Quickly connect to your favourite tools and build scalable workflows.
Easier form building: Forms are integral to all workflows. We will make creating forms easier, faster, and better in Budibase.

What is it that you are looking for when it comes to the automation tools? Here is my list and what I have been thinking about.

Automations:

1. Forms: I utilize Jotform. Jotform has been a great tool for my business as I can customize the forms to my liking. The extremely customizable settings have made that aspect of the business wonderful. Here are things that I use in jotform, that I am struggling with in budibase:

• smart pdf: Jotform has the ability to upload a pdf template, along with creating a form. Once that form is submitted, it produces a pdf based on my pdf template with the ability put format onto that PDF. Today, from what I can tell, Budibase's pdf does not work the same way, and is unable to essentially be an overlay.
• styling: I am finding that the styling with budibase is more complex than what jotform offers. standard classes that can be used for styling components, as well as a lot of out of the box styling options.
• embedding forms: Embedding forms with jotform is extremely simple. I would like to see the ability to embed budibase forms more seamlessly, as well as be able to host the source code of those forms on the website if needed to be able to run forms better.

3. Workflows: I utilize an app called activepieces. When I submit form data, that data is sent to activepieces. from there,I integrate specific form data with other business apps to help me keep everything in sync. I sync my form data with apps like Hubspot, Brevo, BaseRow, Invoiceplane, Documenso, etc. This helps maintain all of my data across the platforms that I use. Apps that are used my workflows consist of:

• Hubspot
• Jotform
• Brevo
• Baserow
• Invoiceplane
• innago

there are some that aim trying to replace with budibase and though that is going slower than anticipated, it hasn't been all for nothing. I do see Budibase being good replacement for Forms and baserow in my solutions. I have faith in this application and feel it will get there.
