Coreboot/SeaBIOS + Hackintosh on x230 #10
Comments
! I tried flashing whitelist-removed ThinkPad X230 BIOS on my ThinkPad. Anything works except some vPro features. (Intel AMT) I haven't tried flashing Coreboot / SeaBIOS on my ThinkPad, but it must be fun 😂. Looking forward to your adventure. |
I don't use Intel AMT, so not a problem. I also "neutralized" Management Engine using the script linked at: https://hackaday.com/2016/11/28/neutralizing-intels-management-engine/ Anything that allows "remote" anything at the firmware level is spyware in my book. |
I've put a tutorial on rebranding, in case flashing the bios is not working. |
@chuckhacker Did you succeed in running macOS with Coreboot? @xxx10101xxx Can you send me a copy of your modified bios? |
Hi @chuckhacker , any news on using Coreboot with macOS ? |
Doesn't work, clover bootloader efi emulation requires ME, neutralizing it won't make it work. |
But what about open core hackintosh using coreboot? |
any updates? |
Has anyone tried this yet? I'm about to flash my BIOS with a Raspberry Pi, really want to avoid the wifi whitelist so I can have an Azurewave hackintosh-compatible AC wireless half-height mini card in there.
I'll be sure to include details of what I encounter. Let the adventures begin!
