This call was 95% about Bosch's work on the Bitcoin Core GUI, as a really good conversation come out of this presentation. He started with some personal background and motivation for the project, outlined what he wants to achieve and shared how things are coming along. If you are curious, check out his write-up on Establishing Bitcoin Core Design foundations. Core is a big, influential project that requires thoroughness, patience and dedicated to make a difference. Many questions came up around designer-developer collaboration, the design-vision, and the best strategy to move forward (collaborate or fork into separate projects?). It's going to be exciting to see this one evolve, especially since we also have Jamaal doing user research for the project.
We also briefly talked about the new home page that allows designers to create custom themes, and ways that we can use this to reflect the global nature of bitcoin. We just need to review the code and merge it, then we can get creative.
Thanks again to Selene for hosting, Bosch for presenting and Joseph for providing the Zoom call.
