Very vague, very high-level

Some use cases:

Ports should support multiple adapters
- Voltage source -> multiple digital sources (or none) - the none case breaks currently since calling as_digital_source creates the adapter, but it it's not connected downstream things break
- Voltage source -> digital source and analog source
