Description

The current WC payment gateways suggestions/recommendations system was created and iterated upon to serve a less demanding UX (Payments task page, primarily).

We need to look at it with fresh eyes, consider the needs of the new WC Payments NOX UX (including the upcoming payment methods recommendations), and identify what changes are needed to set ourselves up for smooth, natural data flows. The aim is to set ourselves up with an underlying system that works with the new UX as much as possible.

Acceptance criteria

Publish a P2 post with:

  • Analysis of the API needs of the NOX
  • Analysis of the current state of the API, identify overlaps and gaps with the needs of the NOX
  • Explore required changes and their implications (including compatibility with existing use cases)
  • Proposal for the way forward
