Dialogs don't close if the player dies, quits, walks away, teleports, etc.

The problem is that there's no way of capturing all possible events which might lead to prematurely ending a dialog. You can capture individual cases, yes, but then you'll be left in a situation where you'll be stomping out edge case scenarios to the end of time.
