Appears it may be an assimp bug. update assimp to latest devhead to see if it fixes it

some reports that updated assimp did resolve this, needs more thorough testing.

A workaround in the meantime by exporting at 0.1 scale and importing at 0.1 scale seems to sidestep the bug.
