adding new operator steps

I am trying to connect an Agent with a new user (mdelvalle1999) so that they can be made a collection operator. When I add myself (marmour) as their agent I get an error-code

@MTArmour I'm not sure what you mean about adding yourself as their agent?
You would want to create the user's Agent profile first, with their username and email address associated with their Agent profile in Arctos. Once they exist as an Agent, you can then assign them operator permissions. That means you invite them to become an operator, which should send an email to them, then they can accept and change their password to match operator requirements if needed. Then you go to https://arctos.database.museum/AdminUsers.cfm to look up their username, and assign permissions. They will need to log out and log back in once permissions have been assigned. Please read carefully through the permissions and roles prior to assigning - for a new user, the most basic permissions required are coldfusion_user and data_entry, which allows for curatorial review prior to entry or editing of records.

Thanks Mariel for outlining the steps and adding the links. @MTArmour Maria, main thing is that each operator must have a user profile so I usually create that first before I ask the student to register for an account. I'll keep this issue open to make sure you're successful, or feel free to close if this is resolved!
