Gulp can work for hot reloading and workflows using shopify
I was using beanstalk that can connect to shopify as the repo with a combination of gulp and browsersynch

ensure node does not have any weird global permissions, this will cause some EACCESS errors when trying certain mkdir during install
if you run into these errors you should refer to changing these node permissions

in my case reinstalling node was the best option to assert the right permission from the start

running into an error that stops gulp because "device out of space" means you need to rais the max-watch

when first cloning rpose, leave errors and missing dependencies as is, many things relied on these seemingly broke pieces in my situation to run successfully
